Max New York opens M 'lore branch

Max New York Life, a private sector life insurance company, has opened a branch in Mangalore. Addressing presspersons on the occasion, Mr Rajesh Sud, Executive Director (Agency, Bancassurance and Direct Sales Distribution), said the company would open 36 more branches in the country during the year. Max New York Life has 60 offices in 39 cities. "We will continue to aggressively improve our reach to tap the vast insurable population in urban and rural areas," he said. Max New York Life has sold 9.3 lakh policies and recorded a sum assured of over Rs 27,000 core. The company, which has more than 2,600 employees, has over 15,000 agent advisors. Mr Sud said Max New York Life has launched 22 products and eight riders in the Indian market. These products can be customised to over 400 combinations. Max New York Life is now focusing on widening its distribution mix by pursuing bancassurance, rural business, direct sales force involving group insurance and telemarketing opportunities, and corporate alliances, he added.
