Kilburn Engineering Ltd, a BM Khaitan Group company, has registered 12.7 per cent growth in its gross sales for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 as compared to the corresponding quarter of 2004-05.

Gross sales went up to Rs 17.98 crore from Rs 15.95 crore. Net profit, however, jumped by over ten times. From 2.07 crore it went up to Rs 13.63 crore because of a deferred taxation asset of Rs 8.59 crore.

The company was in the BIFR (Board for Industrial & Financial Reconstruction) after becoming sick. Based on a revival package, which was approved in 2004, it has now turned around. It would soon seek de-registration from BIFR.

The company has successfully initiated a long-term supply relationship with its technical collaborators, the Japan-based Nara Machinery Co Ltd, for supply of paddle dryers.
