Bangalore , May 13

For the fifth time in a row, B-school students across the country have voted Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys, as the county's most admired business leader.

In a study by Brand-comm, a Bangalore-based brand consulting company, 545 students from 13 B-schools, including three IIMs, Mr Murthy was seen as "honest and passionate".

"The clarity and consistency in Mr Murthy's personal branding and positioning seems to have been highly effective for the last five years," said Mr Ramanujam Sridhar, CEO, Brand-comm.

Mr Ratan Tata, Chairman of the Tata Group, occupies the second position in the list, followed by the Ambanis, Mr Azim Premji, Mr Vijay Mallya, and Mr Kumar Mangalam Birla.

Though Mr Tata was voted the second most admired businessman last year too, this year the margin between the first and second positions has widened.

Interestingly, Mr Murthy and Mr Dhirubhai Ambani were admired for the same set of values: entrepreneurship, social responsibility, corporate responsibility, etc.

The others have different maps: Mr Premji for discipline and integrity and Mr Mallya for flair and style.

According to the study, Infosys enjoys the status of the "most attractive company to work for."

Following it are the Tata Group of companies, Wipro, and ICICI Bank.
