Ambar Singh Roy

Kolkata , May 14

The upswing in the IT sector in Kolkata has created newer kind of opportunities for realtors in the city. After apartments, high rises and multiplexes, the time seems to be just ripe for service apartments to find takers among professionals engaged in the IT sector in Kolkata. And, the city-based Surekha Group, which has interests in real estate, software and bicycle tyres and tubes, will be among the first to roll out the service apartments concept in the State's silicon district i.e., in Salt Lake, Kolkata, which is address to almost all IT companies operating from the city.

According to Mr Ravi Venkatesh, Chief Executive Officer of the Surekha Group, a total of 84 service apartments would be set up by the group in the Salt Lake Electronics Complex in the first phase. These service apartments would be built on built-own-operate basis and would be designed to cater to the specific needs of IT professionals. "We want to be the first in Kolkata to introduce the concept of service apartments. These apartments are uniquely designed for convenience and comfort," he said.
