Begins process for land acquisition in Seetarampur

Hyderabad , May 14

The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to set up two garment parks at Seetarampur and Alur villages in Ranga Reddy district, promising to provide employment to thousands of youths in the district.

The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, announced the decision recently while launching the second phase of Praja Patham at Bodampahad village, district officials said.

Dr Reddy said that the proposed parks would provide jobs to at least 4,000 people in the district.

The Government had already started the process of acquiring land for the garment park in Seetarampur (Shahbad mandal).

The officials said the park would be ready in a year.

Efforts to acquire land for the other park too would begin soon. Those who were being displaced would suitably be compensated, Dr Reddy said.

On his promise to bring Godavari water to Chevella, he said the Government would not go back on its promise. The project, when completed, would irrigate 16 lakh acres of land, covering Karimnagar, Medak and Nizamabad.

About 70 per cent of farmers in the State had installed capacitors in their pump sets.

Stating that capacitors would improve the performance of the motors, he hoped that the remaining 30 per cent of farmers too would follow suit.
