TeamLease to recruit more ITI students

TeamLease Services (P) Ltd, a major player in the temporary staffing industry, is planning to recruit ITI students from tier-II cities such as Mangalore and Mysore for its clients. Ms Sangeeta Lala, Vice-President, TeamLease, told Business Line here that the company had recruited nearly 500 candidates in Mangalore, primarily ITI students, in the last few weeks. During the current fiscal, the company is planning to increase the number of candidates from the region by at least 10 times. Stating that there is a large base in colleges affiliated to Mangalore University, she said around 70,000 students pass out annually from the region and move to Bangalore or Mumbai for future job prospects."TeamLease provides opportunity to these students to enter the job market with fixed incomes and other statutory benefits as well as giving them a level-playing field to showcase their skills and move on to higher-skilled or permanent jobs," she said.

Asked about the plans for sourcing students from other regions in the State, Ms Lala said Mysore provides good quality and quantity ITI students, just like Mangalore. The company will source candidates from Mysore, Tumkur and Hassan in the coming days, she added. The company has more than 45,000 employees across 425 locations in the country for over 389 clients.
