Achuthanandan to be Kerala CM

The CPI(M) veteran Mr V.S. Achuthanandan is the new Chief Minister of Kerala.

The State Committee of CPI (M), which met here on Monday, said in a statement that it had unanimously approved the name of Mr Achuthanandan as the Chief Minister.

The statement also said it had unanimously adopted the names of ministers submitted by the party State Secretary, Mr Pinarayi Vijayan.

Mr Achuthanandan later told newspersons that the swearing-in ceremony of the new ministry would be held on May 18.
