Gold, silver decline further

Precious metals fell further on the local bullion market on Tuesday following continued weak overseas advices.

Standard gold prices were down Rs 120 to end at Rs 10,145 per 10 gm from the previous close of Rs 10,265 a kg. Pure gold (99.99) was down Rs 125 to close at Rs 10,190 from the previous close of Rs 10,315 per kg.

Silver (.999 fineness) price was down Rs 450 to close at Rs 20,335 from the previous close of Rs 20,785 a kg.

Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 20,135; retail silver (per gm): Rs 21.55; Standard gold: Rs 10,220; retail ornament gold (22 carat per gm): Rs 946.

Kolkata: Silver ready: Rs 19,750; Gold ready: Rs 10,355.
