Software Info-Tech - Human Resources Infosys to invest big in training Our Bureau
Mumbai , May 16 Infosys Technologies has set aside Rs 1,600 crore to invest in training and infrastructure for the year, during which it plans to hire 25,000 employees and increase office space by 50 per cent. Infosys is creating 5.3 million square feet of Grade A office space that can seat 22,000 to 25,000 persons; this is in addition to the 10 million sq ft it already has, said Mr T.V. Mohandas Pai, Board Member at Infosys and now in charge of its HR functions. The training facility in Mysore, which has 2,250 rooms and can train 4,500 in a single sitting, is going to be augmented by another 7,750 rooms and provide for training an additional 9,000 people in a single sitting. The company will hire 1,000 people in China this year where it is building capacity for 5,000.
