Mumbai , May 16 Suzuki Motorcycles India Pvt Ltd launched its 125cc single cylinder bike, `Zeus,' at an introductory price of Rs 46,084 ex-showroom, here on Tuesday. According to senior officials of the company, one more variant of the model is expected which could give `Zeus' a dominant share in manufacture, more than the volumes for `Heat', the company's other product in the Indian market. Both `Heat' and `Zeus' are 125cc motorcycles. Mr Deepak Pandey, Department Head (Sales & Marketing), said that 125cc bikes should evolve into the volume segment of the domestic motorcycle market. "In times to come, we will be present in the full range,'' he said. The company has invested around Rs 200 crore to put up a capacity for 100,000 bikes per annum at Gurgaon. According to Mr Katsumi Takata, Joint Managing Director, production capacity would touch 180,000 units by August. The company would like to have a capacity of 500,000 units eventually. "In the initial stage, capacity would be conservative,'' he said. The motorcycle manufacturer plans to have 70 dealerships nationwide by end-May. Only 3-4 per cent of its 51 dealerships so far are also dealers for Maruti Udyog Ltd.
