Dr Reddy's launches asthma drug Doxofylline

Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd has introduced a European research product Doxofylline, a second-generation xanthine bronchodilator.

In a press release here on Tuesday, the company said it has introduced this product under licence agreement from Kent Union Ltd, Hong Kong, and marketing co-operation with Netherlands-based Eurodrug Laboratories BV.

Doxofylline is being introduced under the brand name `Doxobid' and would be available in a pack of 10's in 400 mg dosage. Doxobid is meant to treat patients suffering from asthma & COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

According to the company, Doxobid would further help it consolidate its position in the asthma & COPD segment as the company has been moving towards strengthening its respiratory portfolio.
