Communications and network infrastructure provider Cisco Systems announced that Capgemini India, an outsourcing services firm, would deploy Cisco's switching and routing solutions, IP telephony and security in its integrated communication network. Capgemini India would install the network infrastructure deploying Catalyst switches and 3,700 and 2,600 routers. The company would also adopt Cisco's Network Management Solutions for managing the LAN infrastructure, said a release issued by the company. Capgemini also installed IP telephony infrastructure and the Intrusion Prevention System from Cisco's portfolio of Advanced Technologies. Capgemini has nearly 1,000 Cisco IP Phones currently installed, along with the Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Unity suite for voicemail. The Cisco IP telephony infrastructure runs on standards based power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af). Capgemini uses Firewall Services module on the core and Intrusion Prevention system 4240.
