Mumbai , May 19

Siemens Ltd has tied up with Huawei-3Com to offer Internet protocol-based voice, data, and video network solutions to enterprise customers in India.

Huawei-3Com is a joint venture between Huawei Technologies of China and the US-based 3Com Corp, which supplies IP networking products and solutions.

Siemens' Communications Enterprise Networks (Com EN) division is actually extending an already existing global partnership with Huawei-3Com to India.

This will allow Siemens to be even more aggressive on the converged communications space, where it already enjoys 24 per cent market share in India, said Mr Peter Gartenberg, Executive Vice-President, Com EN division.

The alliance will offer networking solutions to the entire market spectrum from `small office home office' to large enterprises, designed to meet specific requirements at a highly attractive cost of ownership, said a statement from Siemens.

Siemens brings to the partnership its IP-based communication platforms, terminals, and applications, while Huawei-3Com has IP network solutions.

Siemens, with its extensive sales and service network across India, will help Huawei-3Com serve the market, said Mr Eric Zhao, Managing Director, Huawei-3Com.

Huawei-3Com was established in 2003. Its Indian presence is barely a year old. The company has two R&D centres and three sales offices in the country.
