Gold dips by Rs 33/gm

Precious metals continued to rule weak on the local bullion market on Saturday on some offerings amid continued weak overseas market.

Standard gold prices were down Rs 330 to Rs 9,780 per 10 gm from the previous close of Rs 10,110 a kg. Pure gold (99.99) was down Rs 325 to close at Rs 9,835 from the previous close of Rs 10,160 a kg.

Silver (.999 fineness) price was down Rs 350 to close at Rs 19,370 from the previous close of Rs 19,720 a kg.

Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 19,155; retail silver (per gm): Rs 20.50; Standard gold: Rs 9,915; retail ornament gold (22 carat per gm): Rs 918.

Kolkata: Silver ready: Rs 19,200; Gold ready: Rs 9,975.
