Foods & Food Processing Himalya Intl Q4 net profit at Rs 4.05 cr Our Bureau
Mumbai , May 20 Himalya International Ltd (HIL), the largest producer of Speciality Mozzarella Cheese outside Italy and the second largest producer of mushrooms in India, has posted a 550 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 6 crore in fiscal 2005-06 against Rs 92 lakhposted in 2004-05. Net profit for the fourth quarter jumped to Rs 4.05 crore against a loss of Rs 58 lakh for the corresponding period the previous year. "This has been the best quarter in the history of the company helped by its $25-million cheese project, which the company has begun exporting from fourth quarter of 2006," Mr Manmohan Malik, Chairman and CEO, said.

"The company expects robust growth of its existing food processing as well as its new dairy business," he said. The order book that is being built for 2006-07 for the existing line of frozen mushrooms, potatoes, speciality vegetables and cheese has a distinct flavour of `Value Added Products' for food service and retail chains in the US, a news release from the company said.
