The Kolkata branch of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) would begin offering programmes this July. To begin with, it would offer its two-year MBA (International Business) and, later in the year, the part-time programme at rented premises.

The institute would begin construction of its own campus on the site allotted to them by the West Bengal Government, Mr Prabhir Sen Gupta, Director-General of IIFT, told Business Line on Saturday.

Encouraged by the success of its online programmes, the institute was seriously thinking to offer its part-time course through this medium. Mr Sen Gupta was here to take part in the institute's executive committee meeting and alumni meet.

On placements, he said the institute registered 100 per cent placements. Thirty-five companies had to return empty handed early this year, with all the students getting placements in just half a day. One of its students got a salary package of $1 lakh a year.
