Outsourcing Sinar Jernih bullish on India, eyes facility management services V. Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad , May 22 If outsourcing is the new mantra encompassing more sectors, the domestic hospitality, healthcare segments and even airlines support services have been bitten by this outsourcing bug. Sinar Jernih Sdn Berhad, a Malaysian company specialising in providing outsourced services of cleaning and management including outsourced facility management services, is bullish on India opportunity. The company is poised to step up its presence in more cities in the country, induct more people and also set up a training academy. As companies are increasingly opting to focus on core competencies and outsourcing non-core services areas, Sinar Jernih, which means clear/pure shine in Malay, is eyeing the growing facility service provider market in India. The Executive Director of Sinar Jernih (India), Mr J.S. Shekhar, said, "The domestic hospitality industry is booming and facility service providers will be in demand. We have over the years managed to convince the industry of capabilities in handling their non-core areas with equal commitment and professional approach." The niche market for facility management industry is estimated at about Rs 300 crore. Sinar Jernih employs about 2,000 people in India of the 6,000 across the globe. Outlining the company plans for India, Mr Shekar, told Business Line "Consolidation within the hospitality industry and penetrating the healthcare and commercial sector along with opening up of a training institute with certification programmes is the company focus area. Alongside this, the company plans to commence services to the residential consumers and some more services into the Indian market."
