Bhoopalapally power project to be ready by 2008

The Rs 2,077-crore, 500-MW Bhoopalapally project in Warangal district will be completed by November 2008.
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, would lay the foundation for the thermal station on June 1, 2006.
Later, the Chief Minister will also lay the foundation for 2x25 MW Nagarjunasagar tail pond dam on June 2. The tail pond dam would entail a total investment of Rs 464 crore to be funded by the Power Finance Corporation.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office, the two units of the Nagarjunasagar tail pond dam are scheduled to be commissioned by July and November 2008 respectively. These two projects will bring in voltage profile stability in several parts of Telangana areas, and the quality of power supply is set to improve.
Fuel linkage
The State Power Minister, Mohd. Shabbir Ali, requested the Union Coal Minister, Mr Dasari Narayana Rao, to speed up coal linkage process to the 1600-MW Krishnapatnam project. This project is proposed to be set up by AP Genco.
The Power Minister directed the district administration to ensure that the process of installation of capacitors for the agriculture pumpsets is expedited in the districts of Karimnagar, Ananatapur, Nellore and Warangal districts.
