The Singapore-based education consultancy firm, Perform@ International, today launched Fast ForWord, a software-based product to build "brain capacity".

Engineered by the US-based research firm, Scientific Learning Corp, the product will be marketed at Chennai, followed by Bangalore, Kochi, and Hyderabad.

"Fast ForWord doesn't teach content but improves cognitive processes," said Mr Peter Carabi, Director (International Market Development), Scientific Learning.

It is an auditory product involving areas like word analysis, vocabulary, and spelling. The software has 10 modules, each of 50 minutes duration; it will require 6-10 weeks to complete the course.

Perform@ targets school children from class 4 to class 8 (aged 8-13 years); the software will be primarily available for use in schools and not homes.
