IDG to launch monthly PC World

Our Bureau

Bangalore, May 23

International Data Group (IDG) is set to launch a monthly publication for tech savvy readers in the country called PC World. Editorial content will be based on rigorous testing of locally available products and gadgets. An initial $5 million has been invested in setting up a lab for reviewing gadgets, called the India Test Center, at Bangalore. Another $15 million would be invested in introducing new media products over the next 3-4 years to Indian readers. "We will introduce, on a serial basis, ten products over the next 3-4 years," said Mr N. Bringi Dev, President, IDG.

PC World magazine would be available in newsstands in July for a price of Rs 100. An initial circulation of 80,000 copies is expected. A companion site www.pcworld.in would also be simultaneously launched.
