Cinema `Fanaa' not likely to be screened at multiplexes Our Bureau
Mumbai , May 24 The much-awaited Hindi film, Fanaa, is not likely to hit the screens at multiplexes across India. Yashraj Films, producer of the film starring Aamir Khan and Kajol, has decided not to release the film in multiplexes. The producer has sought a higher revenue share of 55 per cent from multiplexes for Fanaa as compared to the regular share of 48 per cent. Yashraj Films is in talks with the Multiplex Owners' Association. If the latter agrees to a higher share, the film would be released at multiplexes too. Fanaa hits single-screen theatres on Friday. "We have only asked the multiplexes to give us a better share for Fanaa. We believe that we bring a certain value to a film and that we should accordingly get that benefit. We have also conveyed to them that we are asking for better terms only if the film performs well at the box office; if it doesn't, we are willing to go ahead with the old terms," a press note quoting the film's director, Mr Kunal Kohli, said.
