Lakshmi Mills to pay 15 pc

Lakshmi Mills Company Ltd has recorded a higher net profit at Rs 1.44 crore on a higher sales turnover for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 1.18 crore for the same period in the previous year. Its net sales during the quarter went up to Rs 36.51 crore as compared to Rs 35.61 crore. The board of directors at a meeting on May 25 decided to give 15 per cent dividend for the shareholders for the year.

As for the year-on-year growth, its net sales for fiscal 2005-06 marginally rose to Rs 150.64 crore as compared to Rs 146.27 crore in the previous year. Its net profit for the period has gone up by 48 per cent to Rs 6.42 crore as against Rs 4.33 crore during 2004-05. The company's interest charges on borrowing during the year came down to Rs 2.98 crore from Rs 4.36 crore.
