New Products & Services CavinKare unveils Meera shampoo variant Sravanthi Challapalli
Chennai , May 25 In a new launch designed to protect its Meera franchise, CavinKare Pvt Ltd has launched a variant of Meera shampoo that contains `pure herbal particles.' The product aims to tap into/retain users of hairwash powder shifting to shampoo by combining herbal powder's benefits with the convenience of shampoo use, Mr Ramesh Viswanathan, Vice-President (Marketing), CavinKare, told Business Line. The new shampoo aims to be a solution to shampoo users worried about the effect of chemicals on their hair, he said. The launch is restricted to Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, two States where the tradition of washing hair with shikakai is very strong, he added. Unlike the shampoo segment, the hairwash powder category is not growing, Mr Viswanathan said. It is estimated at Rs 65 crore and is marked by a number of local players in both States.
