PortalPlayer has announced that it has received the 2006 Frost & Sullivan technology innovation of the year award for its Preface platform. Frost & Sullivan gives this award to companies that have identified emerging trends and have created strategic implementation of products to further expand the market base. Preface is a new technology platform that enables the development of a second user interface on notebook computers called a personal media display (PMD). The PMD works with the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system to provide `Always On' access to information and media stored in the notebook.
