Groundnut oil up on buying

Mumbai , May 25

Groundnut oil, sunflower oil and crude soya oil moved up slightly on the local edible oil market on Thursday on some fresh buying enquiries. Castor oil remained steady on poor buying interest.

Groundnut oil raw was up Re 1 at Rs 465 per 10 kg. Sunflower oil expeller was up Rs 4 at Rs 395 per 10 kg. Imported crude soya oil was up Re 1 at Rs 398 per 10 kg. Castor oil commercial grade was steady at Rs 326 per 10 kg.

RBD palmolein was steady at Rs 395 per 10 kg. In futures segment, castor seed August contracts settled steady at Rs 1,563 per quintal.

Sugar recovers

Sugar spot prices recovered marginally at the Vashi wholesale market on Thursday on some buying interest from upcountry traders amid scattered offering.

Small grade (S-30) was up Rs 5 at Rs 1,880/1,935 per quintal over previous day. Medium grade (M-30) was up Rs 5 at Rs 1,906/1,970 per quintal over previous close.
