Silver declines; gold rules steady

Silver reacted at the higher levels, while gold ruled steady on the local bullion market on Saturday on scattered buying interest amid limited offerings.

Standard gold prices were steady at Rs 9,700 for 10 gm. Pure gold (99.99 fineness) was down Rs 5 at Rs 9,750 for 10 gram.

Silver (.999 fineness) price declined by Rs 90 at Rs 19,365.

CHENNAI: Bar silver Rs19,750 a kg; retail silver Rs 21.15 a gm; standard gold Rs 9,785 for 10 gm; 22-carat ornament gold Rs 906 a gm.
