Madurai oil delegation to visit Malaysia

Our Correspondent

Madurai , May 28

A 35-member team from Madurai Oil and Oil Seeds Association (MOOSA) will be leaving for Malaysia on a four-day business trip from June 27-30 to familiarise themselves first-hand with the production and business techniques of palm oil-based activities.

During the first-ever trip by the association, facilitated by the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), the focus will be on palm oil cultivation practices, visits to extracting mills and refineries, and meetings with the officials of the Ministry of Plantation Industry and Commodities, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board, and trade associations.

At a preparatory meeting today, a MPOC official said that the business trip aimed at strengthening market linkages and bringing about awareness on the multi-various utilisation of palm oil such as in the fields of cosmetics, medicines, ice-cream, and candle-making.
