German companies eyeing partnerships

Bangalore, May 30

The State-sponsored sixth biotechnology event, Bangalore Bio 2006, will have a significant German presence, according to an official release.

Participants at the three-day conference and trade fair beginning on June 7 are biotech databases and tools company Biobase; Senova, BASF Plant Science, Roche Diagnostics, Bio Nord, among others. These companies have a larger agenda and will look closely for Indian partnerships in various biotech-related areas, the release said.

Biobase is a leading content provider of biological databases, knowledge tools and software for the life science industry.

The company is seeking cooperation in bio-informatics, services and products from companies involved in pharma, biotechnology with R&D operations. Senova is looking at tie-ups in the development of ultrasensitive immunological and RNA-based quick tests.
