Bombay Dyeing Q4 net loss doubles

Mumbai, May 30

Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company Ltd on Tuesday posted a net loss of 115 per cent at Rs 7.40 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, as compared to a net loss of Rs 3.44 crore for the same quarter in 2004-05.

Net sales decreased by 25 per cent to Rs 212.62 crore as against Rs 286.95 crore during the previous quarter.

The net profit for 2005-06 rose by 130 per cent at Rs 61.34 crore as against Rs 26.56 crore for 2004-05.

Net sales for 2005-06 fell by 1.22 per cent at Rs 1,013.01 crore (Rs 1,025.6 crore).

The company has announced a dividend of Rs 5 per equity share of Rs 10.

Mr Ness Wadia, Deputy Managing Director, has been re-designated as Joint Managing Director of the company.

Shares of Bombay Dyeing fell by Rs 15.45 to Rs 740.55 in Tuesday's trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
