Cabinet Secretary's tenure extended

New Delhi, May 30

Mr B.K. Chaturvedi has been given a year's extension as the Union Cabinet Secretary.

An order to this effect has been issued by the Government following the decision of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister, Mr Manmohan Singh, to give Mr Chaturvedi, who was to retire on June 13, a year's extension.

Mr Chaturvedi, an IAS officer of 1966 batch from Uttar Pradesh cadre, was appointed Cabinet Secretary on June 14, 2004.
