Kochi , May 31

Citizen Watches has opened its First Citizen Showroom here at Marine Drive, the second outlet in the city, on Wednesday.

This is the country's 30th First Citizen Showroom and the largest showroom in Asia with over 2,400 sq ft of space, Mr Sebastian Lukose, Manager (Sales), Citizen Watches, said.

Asked why the company has selected Kochi to open the largest showroom, he said there has been good response in the city to Citizen products, including high-end watches, and Kerala is the State where the company had tripled its sales in five years.

Citizen, he said, enjoys an advantage over its competitors with its cutting-edge Eco Drive Technology. The company's endeavour is to create awareness among people on the technological advancement of the watch, he said.

The company plans to open 120 exclusive First Citizen showrooms in the country by next year in all towns having a one million-plus population. Of this, about 25 showrooms would be opened this year itself, he said.
