Gold, silver decline further

Mumbai , June 2

Precious metals fell sharply on the local bullion market on Friday.

Standard gold prices were down Rs 95 at Rs 9,430 per 10 gm from Rs 9,525 per kg. Pure gold (99.99 fineness) was down Rs 80 to close at Rs 9,480 per 10 gm from Rs 9,560.

Silver (.999 fineness) price was down Rs 225 to close at Rs 18,535 from previous close of Rs 18,760 a kg.

Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 18,920; retail silver (per gm): Rs 20.25; Standard gold: Rs 9,575; retail ornament gold (22 carat per gm): Rs 887.
