Mahanagar Gas hikes prices of CNG and PNG

As per the revised list, CNG will now cost Rs 22.06 per kg in Mumbai (increase of Rs 1.16). PNG will now cost Rs 12.52 per kg in Mumbai (increase of Rs 0.70).

Mumbai , June 8

Mahanagar Gas Ltd, a joint venture between GAIL, British Gas and the Government of Maharashtra, which supplies piped natural gas (PNG) and CNG to consumers in Mumbai and Thane region, has hiked the prices of the products.

As per the revised list, CNG will now cost Rs 22.06 per kg in Mumbai (increased by Rs 1.16), Rs 22.51 in Thane (Rs 1.21) and Rs 22.18 in Mira/Bhayander region (Rs 1.18). PNG will now cost Rs 12.52 per kg in Mumbai (increase by Rs 0.70), Rs 12.75 in Thane and Rs 12.58 in Mira/Bhayander region.

The company supplies PNG to about 2.5 lakh domestic and industrial units in these areas through its network of 201 km of steel and 1,840 km of PE lines across the city. About 1.7 lakh vehicles in Mumbai and surrounding areas consume CNG, which is distributed through a network of 120 CNG stations and 596 dispensing points.
