Deloitte employees take to voluntary work

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , June 9

About 3,500 employees of Deloitte and India, participated in a major social work initiative and dedicated about 30,000 hours of voluntary service, touching about 30,000 lives.

This is part of a social event Impact Day and is amongst a major voluntary service. This encompassed about 21 different social activities.

Inspired by Munnabhai's Jaadu Ki Jhappi, as part of the Salaam Namaste activity, volunteers showed their gratitude to the sweepers of the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad and drivers of the Road Transport Corporation. They carried with them little thank you Jute Bags that had sweets, biscuits and some stationery.

The regional manager, principal, Region 10, Deloitte, Ms Tracey Edwards, in a statement said, "It is a win-win situation for everyone, for both our employees and people who benefit from the service."

As a part of the heritage Hyderabad activity, a continuation of last year's work, volunteers visited places of historical importance — Mushq Mahal (Attapur), Sita Rambagh temple (Attapur), Paigah Tombs, Premavathi Baradari, Saidanima Tomb, and help them restore some of lost splendour.
