Chennai, June 9

Prasan Cuisines Private Ltd plans to set up a chain of vegetarian restaurants branded Sandeepha, initially in Chennai, followed by a Tamil Nadu footprint before taking it overseas. Mr R. Rangarajan, Director, Prasan Cuisines, said that the initial project cost is about Rs 1 crore and the company plans to set up a centralised kitchen to cater to the Sandeepha restaurants in and around Chennai. The first of these restaurants has come up in T.Nagar, a major shopping and business district in Chennai. This is a 135-cover restaurant and will be open from 7 am to midnight.

He said that over the next two years, the company plans to grow the chain over Tamil Nadu and the neighbouring states before taking it to markets where there are people of South Indian origin.
