The Hindu Business Line : UGS to focus on SMBs

UGS India Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the $1.2-billion turnover UGS Corp Inc of the US, has firmed up plans to focus on the small & medium businesses (SMB) segment for its product lifestyle management (PLM) products and solutions offerings.

According to Mr Satheesh Kurup, Business Manager - India, UGS India Pvt Ltd, till recently the company's PLM offerings for the SMB or mid-market segment were confined to modular software solutions. Now, it has launched the UGS Velocity series portfolio of products at an affordable price and implementation cost.

Earlier, companies with extensive IT resources could take advantage of PLM. Now, the UGS Velocity series had been designed specifically for the mid-market segment for rapid deployment in Windows and at a low total cost of ownership.

Mr Kurup said UGS' PLM solutions could be deployed in an array of industry verticals such as automotive, aerospace, defence, telecommunications, machinery and consumer products.
