Research unit on migration

Thiruvananthapuram, June 11

The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India, is setting up a research unit at the Centre for Development Studies (CDS) here to carry out research on international migration. Mr Vayalar Ravi, Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, will inaugurate the centre at a function to be held at the CDS here on Monday. Mr V. Ramachandran, former Chief Secretary and Chairman, Centre for Management Development (CMD), will be the chairperson at the function. Dr S. Irudaya Rajan, Fellow, CDS, will provide a briefing on research on migration. This will be followed by a panel session, which will be addressed, among others, by Dr T. M. Thomas Isaac, Minister for Finance, and an Honorary Fellow at the CDS.
