Announcements L&T gets Rs 481.6-cr water supply project Our Bureau
Mumbai , June 12 Engineering and construction organisation Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has secured a Rs 481.6-crore turnkey order from the Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project for setting up a water supply system for the Bisalpur Water Supply Project. The project will be aided by the Asian Development Bank and will be executed by L&T's ECC Division. According to an official statement, the project aims to reduce Jaipur's dependence on ground water resources by catering to the city's increasing water demand. Once this project is completed, Jaipur will gain by a supply of 360 million litres per day (MLD) of treated water and its adjoining rural areas by 40 MLD. The project has a scheduled completion period of 30 months. Design, supply, laying, jointing, testing and commissioning of 106-km long mild steel pipelines and a 400-MLD capacity water treatment plant as well as providing pumping machinery, electrical, instrumentation and automation works also fall under the scope of this project. Shares of L&T fell by Rs 58.75 to end at Rs 1,964.60 on the BSE.
