Chennai , June 14

Leather brand Hidesign is increasing its retail presence in West Asia. The company has signed a joint venture pact with Dubai-based retail major Jashanmal National Company with an initial outlay of AED 1 million.

A press release from Hidesign says it will hold 49 per cent stake in the proposed joint venture and will contribute to the entity in the form of its products and brand name. Jashanmal will utilise its network and expertise in marketing the Hidesign products in the region.

Mr Kunal R. Sachdev, CEO, Hidesign, was quoted as saying, "Under the new set-up, Hidesign intends to open two exclusive stores in the region. We are also looking at expanding our presence through similar tie-ups in other regions as well."

Apart from the two exclusive stores, Hidesign will also be retailed through the shop-in-shop model at the Jashanmal stores in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.

Today, Hidesign sells in more than 18 countries in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Australia, in stores such as House of Fraser, John Lewis, Magasin Du Nord and Selfridges.
