Aviva Life hikes capital base

New Delhi , June 15

Aviva Life Insurance has today announced an increase in its capital base by Rs 100 crore, taking the total paid-up capital to Rs 559 crore from the current Rs 459 crore.

As per Government regulations, Aviva holds a 26 per cent stake and Dabur 74 per cent. The fresh infusion will help fuel the aggressive growth plans of the company, according to a statement issued by Aviva here.

The company has increased its market share to 5.1 per cent during April 2005-March 2006, up from 4.2 per cent during the same period last year.
