Duty cut on petrol, diesel notified

New Delhi, June 17

The Finance Ministry has formally notified the reduction in customs duty on petrol and high-speed diesel from 10 per cent to 7.5 per cent. A reduction in customs duty on petrol and diesel formed part of the package approved by the Union Cabinet in the first week of June to help oil companies cover their under-recoveries due to the surge in international crude prices.
