AP reduces price of mushroom spawn

Hyderabad, June 18

The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to reduce the price of mushroom spawn (seed) to Rs 30 per kg from Rs 40 per kg, according to a press release from the Department of Horticulture. The idea is to promote the cultivation of mushroom, which is specially grown on agro wastes. Interested persons can place their seed indents with mushroom laboratories across the State. Separate mushroom cultivation training is also being organised at the laboratories, the release said.
