New Delhi , June 19

Indian travellers will soon have more non-stop options while flying to Paris and New York.

The French national airline Air France on Monday announced flights from Chennai to Paris thrice a week from October 31. It would be using its own aircraft.

In a statement, the airline has said that the flight, which is to be operated with a 291-seater Airbus A-340 aircraft, would leave Chennai at 2.10 am and arrive in Paris Charles De Gaulle airport at 8.35 am. The flight is to operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

In addition, the airline is to operate a daily flight between Bangalore and Paris instead of the five times a week service that it offers at present. Besides, the airline would deploy the Boeing 777-200 aircraft on the daily Mumbai-Paris sector, thereby offering an additional 40 seats per flight.

Meanwhile, the US-based Delta Airlines on Monday announced the start of a daily non-stop service between Mumbai and New York from November 3 this year. In a statement, the airline has said that the flight would cut down travel time between India and the US by at least four hours in each direction.

At the moment, American Airlines and Continental Airlines operate daily non-stop flights from Chicago and Newark (New York) respectively to Delhi.
