GIEAIA maintains its supremacy among class 3, 4 employees

Kochi , June 19

General Insurance Officers All India Association (GIOAIA), affiliated to INTUC, got eligibility for recognition in United India Insurance Company and National Insurance Company in the check-off exercise held on April 18.

In Class-I officer category, United India Officers Association, National Insurance Company Officers Association, Oriental Insurance Company Officers Association and New India Assurance Officers Association were also qualified in their respective companies.

Mr P.P. Mohanan, Kerala State General Secretary of GIOAIA, said in a statement that the benchmark in each category was 20 per cent.

General Insurance Employees All India Association (GIEAIA) led by Mr Gurudas Das Gupta, President, and Mr N.D.Sundaresan, General Secretary, maintained its supremacy among class III, IV employees like in the first check-off exercise held in March 2004. The association got its support of 6,612 employees (62.58 per cent) in United India, 5,278 (57.83 per cent) in National and 4,869 (53.2 per cent) in Oriental Insurance Company.

Recognition

All India Insurance Employees Association (AIIEA), which is in the second position, got 29.68 per cent (3,136) in United India, 35.23 per cent (3,300) in National and 23.7 per cent (1,946) valid letters of authorisations of Class 3, 4 employees in the referendum.
