Avocent to buy Intel spin-off

Bangalore, June 19

Avocent Corporation on Monday announced it would acquire Intel spin-off LanDesk, a provider of IT infrastructure management and security products and solutions.

The company also announced it would introduce its products for small and medium business (SMBs) in India. It has offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad.

The company may set up a centre in Bangalore, according to Mr Dudley DeVore, Senior Vice President - Global Branded Markets, Avocent Corporation. Its recent acquisition of US-based Cyclades would offer more opportunities in expanding the business in the Linux and network infrastructure management space. Avocent offers centralised management of enterprise data centres and branch offices.
