First Flight gets first aircraft

Mumbai, June 19

First Flight Couriers took delivery of its first aircraft at Bangalore. The eight-tonne capacity ATPF aircraft is the first of the three airplanes that the company is set to acquire within this year. This marks the entry of First Flight in the league of courier companies operating cargo aircraft in the country.

The Rs 240-crore First Flight Couriers is expected to commence aviation operations by mid-July with two airplanes. The third aircraft is being added by mid-August. Mr. R. K. Saboo, Deputy Managing Director of the company, said "In-house aviation capability will give us a unique edge in the market. We will now offer full custodian control for all shipments moving within the country".
