Simplex gets sports complex project

New Delhi, June 21

Simplex Infrastructures Ltd has bagged two construction projects awarded by the Jharkhand Government for its Ranchi Mega Sports complex. Simplex would execute the projects, worth Rs 251.88 crore, through a joint venture with UK-based construction company Laing O Rouke, according to a statement issued here on Wednesday.

"The construction of the sports complex will include a main stadium with a capacity to accommodate 35,000 people," the release, quoting Mr Amitabh Das Mundhra, Director of Simplex Infrastructures, said. The project would involve construction of covered and non-covered stadiums, shooting ranges and installation of sound and lighting systems. The scoreboard, public display systems, video recording and transmission systems would also be installed under the contract. The projects would be completed in 18 months, the release added.
