Retailing Industry & Economy - Petroleum MRPL likely to open retail outlet by Oct Our Bureau
Mangalore , June 21 MRPL is likely to commission its first retail outlet in the country at Mangalore. Sources in the company told Business Line that MRPL would commission its own retail outlets by October this year. "In all probability, Kadri in Mangalore will get the first outlet," said a source. Most of these retail outlets will come up in Karnataka. However, the sources refused to reveal the number of outlets, terming it a strategic decision. During a recent visit to Mangalore, Mr Subir Raha, former Chairman of ONGC and MRPL, had said: "By Diwali we will be able to commission the first MRPL outlet." Mangalore was also the first city to get ONGC's retail outlet in the country. In April 2005, it commissioned its retail outlet under the brand name OVaL (ONGC Values). Based on the customer feedback and facility design for the outlet in Mangalore, the company decided to go in for new prototypes for MRPL and ONGC outlets.
