Announcements Punj Lloyd venture bags Rs 142-cr order Our Bureau
New Delhi , June 21 Engineering and construction firm Punj Lloyd Ltd, in partnership with Malaysian construction company Persys, has bagged a Rs 142 crore design and construction order from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for its Inderlok-Mundka metro corridor. The assignment, coming up under the second phase of the ongoing metro project in the Capital, involves the design and construction of a 4.78 km elevated viaduct and structural work on four elevated stations, a Punj Lloyd release said here. The project is scheduled for completion within 30 months from the commencement of construction. Punj Lloyd has already completed another DMRC project with its JV partner Persys, which involved the setting up of a 6.3 km long flyover between Kirti Nagar and Tilak Nagar as part of the CP-Dwarka Corridor in the first phase of the project. The company had constructed a metro corridor over the existing Raja Garden flyover at a record height of 17 metres, it said. Punj Lloyd and its joint venture partner Whessoe UK had recently been awarded a Rs 428 crore contract for completing the Dabhol liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal. The company had earlier acquired a majority stake in SembCorp Engineers and Constructors, a Singapore company and also entered into a JV in Saudi Arabia to form `Dayim-Punj Lloyd Engineering Ltd.'
