New Delhi , June 22

The Union Cabinet today approved the transfer of 3.83 acres of defence land near Central Ammunition Depot (CAD), Pulgaon in Maharashtra to the State Road Development Corporation.

The land will be for improvement of Nagpur- Wadha- Pulgaon-Aurangabad- Mumbai road to the level of a National Highway. The cost of the land is estimated at Rs 6.14 lakh.

The transfer would be in exchange for equal value land measuring about 34.66 acres costing Rs 6.17 lakh in village Bachharajpur to the CAD, Pulgaon, an official release said. With the transfer of CAD land to MSRDC and construction of wide road, the traffic would no longer pass through Pulgaon city and thereby prevent inconvenience to the people.
